I remembered seeing an article recently about hotels making it easier to stream
from your own device but didn’t remember the details. I think this was the
article, but it probably doesn’t solve Chuck’s problem.

I carry a small wifi/router typically a HapAC2 or MAP with me that VPNs back to
my network and run a amazon stick on the TV. It also helps to connect all of
the rest of the families devices.

Good to know. I fire up a VPN back to my network on my surface. This would be
the reason for continuing to do it this way,

Depending on the streaming service, the apps through ROKU seem to be geo aware
and won't let you watch certain content (like local channels on Hulu for
instance) unless you change your "home" location. Watching through a web
browser does not have this restriction.

Would you have to log into the ROKU interface to do anything other than set the
WIFI up? Or is that the part that's a pain?

Been in Mexico for a week or so. I travel with a surface, HDMI cable and
adapter so I can watch all my streaming. I keep wondering about just taking a
ROKU stick with me... I do hate to log into anything with the ROKU interface
and I am always going to have the computer because I cannot stand using a cell
phone keyboard.
