There is something different between the way they treat the ROKU app vs the browser or even a phone app. I can watch all my local content through a web browser or on my phone appa, but if I plug a Roku in at a different location, it won't let me access "local" content on Hulu unless I change my home location. Netflix also tells me I'm in a different area. No problems on my phone app or through my web browser. Trust me, I deal with this a lot because my college age kids are always trying to use my accounts for things and they live elsewhere. I've also had the issue when traveling to an airbnb where they have a smart tv or roku and tried to log in on those devices.
