Actually, it's the long term trend that is cited in the study. The main factors are "extreme heat, drought and wildfires".

The only thing I've heard from the extortion pres is "sweep the floors".

Depends on the pollution.

If you live next to a hydrogen sulfide producer I doubt it takes very long for you to notice.

lol, that would mean the decline began to happen prior to 2016, or
are we not doing the whole "we dont see the negative result for a
long time" thing now? Theyre instant? SUHWEEET!!! that means what
we are doing right now is completely fine, so all green
initiatives that speak of clawing back carbon outputs to stop
future decline is no longer relevant in any way shape or form. And
I was gonna go put that tire fire out in the back yard, dont need
    to do that now

Well... Maybe the air quality is not all that great.
Apparently air quality took a turn for the worse in 2016
        (reminder: that was Trump 1.0).

        That's debatable.

LA's air is better, so is Mexico City's.

Both of them have far worse traffic, and summers are getting
so much hotter such that you can't be outside. Phoenix is
probably going to be impossible to be outside in 10 or 15
years (they had 70 days over 110 in 2024).

Love canal is probably better off.

Coal burning is at an all-time low; mainly because it's so
expensive, but the new administration wants to reverse that
(I personally think the economics make that highly unlikely).

        Good riddance agent orange.

DDT is still used a lot in 3rd world (and some 2nd world)
        countries.

The damming of rivers is on the decline a little, but maybe
not enough. We haven't yet figured out how to store water
(enough) without f**king up the ecosystem.

and there are many places running out of water (see above).

Anyone remember smog in LA or worse yet -  Mexico City 55
        years ago?

Love canal?  Cities with coal burning industries and power
        plants?

        Agent orange.  DDT.
