I think I am a libertarian in the sense that I like the idea of live and let
live. As long as we don’t have much overlapping influence, knock yerself out.
I am a socialist when it comes to roads and sewers if needed. Roads for
certain. Cops, military and fire/ems. Need a bit of socialism to keep the FAA
and FCC running. I am an anarchist when trolling liberals on the interwebs and
having hidden desires to erect un permitted towers on BLM land.

I always say libertarians only claim that label because they're too cowardly to
admit they're statists.

The only honest people out there are pure anarchists, we always tell the truth
even when we lie and say we are conservatives.

A more controversial opinion of mine is that there are Communists calling
themselves Libertarians. They're insidious because they believe their own BS.
The commie calling themselves a liberal and the Nazi calling themselves
conservative know exactly what they're doing. Libertarians on the other hand
honestly and truly believe that they stand against communism, yet they share
the core belief that if we take away the state and let the people control
everything themselves that fairy dust and magic sparkles will create a Utopia.
They have different philosophical underpinnings, but they arrived at the same
conclusion.

I say all this as a person who used to call himself a Libertarian (back in my
early 20's). I knew the official positions were extreme, but I thought of
Libertarianism like a counterweight against government overreach. Like taking
an extreme position knowing that you'll compromise towards something
reasonable. I was cured of this by interacting with other Libertarians and
discovering that they generally believe in their own BS. I still follow the
official party Facebook account, and if anything they've gotten crazier.

"An army officer was court-martialed just for asking questions". No, he
was punished for accusing the army of crimes based on conspiracy crap he read
on the internet without evidence and phrasing it in the form of questions.

 That was a FACT

"Seven Conservatives were banned from Facebook." No, seven white
supremacists were banned from Facebook. They proclaim themselves
"Conservative" only because "Nazi" and "KKK" don't have any credibility.
They're just giving conservatives a bad name and we should have been happy that
Facebook kicked them off.

That was an OPINION

Everything makes more sense once you learn the difference.

It only got this far because we stopped punching each other in the mouth

I suspect there are also special snowflakes who are trigger happy about
claiming Cancel Culture. When someone says "cancel" do they mean "People were
mean to me on Twitter" or do they mean "I was doxxed, harassed, threatened,
lost my job, and had my security clearance revoked"? If it's the first one,
maybe they're the snowflake. If it's the second one, then did it happen
because of saying the wrong thing or did it happen because they're a lunatic?
I ignore a lot of this crap, but I did delve into a few claimed cases of
cancelation that sounded concerning to me.

I'll admit I do not investigate everything. I can't. Nobody can. But the few
times I have dug into "cancellation" I found the reality of the situation bore
very little resemblance to the meme about it. Unfortunately, boring reality
cannot spread as fast as sensational memes. I guess I'm just saying take it
all with a grain of salt.

Now you can be cancelled for (supposedly) mocking something that happens in the
future.

Snippet from that leftist commie newspaper this morning (the NYT):

Cancel Culture. There are more human beings in America eager to be offended
than there are those who are eager to offend. A few years ago, people had their
careers destroyed for uttering words that offended the snowflake left. Now
people see their careers destroyed for uttering words that offend the snowflake
right. These are words like diversity, equity, gender, nonbinary, antiracist,
trauma and hate speech. Even just typing words like trauma traumatizes me. The
horror! The horror!

Snowflakes unite!
