Outsourced Microsoft outlook can create huge IMAP sync traffic volumes. With large mailboxes I have seen this up at 20 Mbps. Solution was to change send/receive groups to only focus on inbox/sent box.

Utilization on link was 95-100% of capacity sustained for hours. Analysis of traffic shows multiple connections to Akamai, addresses (23.77.232.x). Customer tells me they have identified the source as Microsoft Office. Anyone else running into this? Steve B.
