Outsourced Microsoft outlook can create huge IMAP sync traffic volumes. With
large mailboxes I have seen this up at 20 Mbps. Solution was to change
send/receive groups to only focus on inbox/sent box.

All the time.

Akamai also hosts a lot of streaming content. They have a pretty extensive
customer list.

Subject: [AFMUG] High Utilization on Business Link

We had a customer call in today to report slow Internet service.
Utilization on link was 95-100% of capacity sustained for hours. Analysis
of traffic shows multiple connections to Akamai, addresses (23.77.232.x).
Customer tells me they have identified the source as Microsoft Office.

Anyone else running into this?
