This just comes down to 1.. calibrate it, most phones have that option and no one ever does.. 2.. some phones compasses are not the best.. your results may vary, my s4 and note 3 work quite well, but some other phones do not. We do give bearings though in the app as well, so you can just pull out a normal compass as well.
