Are the services running or are they completely down?

service lappstackApache status

service lappstackPostgreSQL status

service cnsserver status

If the Apache server isn’t started at all there are some logs specifically for
it in <install_dir/stack/apacke2/logs. error.log might have some information
that would point to what is preventing it from starting up (blocked port,
permission issue, ect.)

If it is started, check both the HTTP and HTTPS login pages in case the browser
auto-completed to the wrong one. For HTTPS it will likely give you a warning
about the certificate being self-signed.

Server was up, but when I went to do anything, it just reported that the
backend wasn't running. I rebooted. Now it doesn't respond on the web interface.

Ideas?

"2. If the server is already 64 bit (Windows Server), uninstall the older
version of the CNS Server"

Since it's not mentioned in the documentation, I found it on the Cambium forum,
"/opt/cnsserver/uninstall".

I glanced over that as I was running it on a 64 bit install. We'll see how much
still applies.

The “CNS Server 1.2 Release Notes” document on the software page includes a
section “Data Migration from 32 bit CNS Servers” that contains instructions for
upgrading from an existing installation.

Your guides might want to include instructions for people upgrading from
previous versions instead of new installs.

Mike,

The latest version on the web site is 1.2.19.2979. There’s been significant
work since the 1.2.13 beta version.

There’s also a hotfix for 1.2.19 available that adds the ability to install
support for newer versions of ePMP firmware in the form of CND file. I
recommend you upgrade to the latest version on the web site and install the hot
fix as well to see if that addresses the issue you’re seeing.

It seems like I can't do anything in the 10.1.255.0/24 network either.

Is the version posted on the web site newer than the version I have
(1.2.13.2856)?

Subject: RE: [AFMUG] CNS 1.2 Beta
The last octet disallowing 0 is only for IP address ranges (start IP through
end IP). 255.255.x.y and /16 slash notation (when it is fixed) allows 0. 255
is also disallowed for the last octet for IP address ranges only.

I was able to start a discover on my setup using Start IP: 10.10.0.0 and Subnet
Mask: 255.255.0.0 successfully. For all the other examples you gave I also got
a red flash or pop-up error when saving.

If I changed the Start IP value from 10.10.0.0 to 10.10.0.1 I was able to use
the following End IP addresses:

• 10.10.254.254

• 10.10.10.254

• 10.10.0.254

This leave the following examples you gave as not working due to 255 being in
one of the octets. 10.10.255.255, 10.10.10.255, 10.10.0.255. I am
characterizing this behavior on our side so we can take a closer look at things
to make the system easier to use.

Please let us know if you’re able to get an IP range working by starting at
10.10.0.1.

Thanks,
Jordan

The cell flashes red. Start of 10.10.0.0 and I haven't found an end IP that
doesn't flash red. I also tested other start IPs. I first tried an end of
10.10.255.255, 10.10.254.254, 10.10.10.255, 10.10.10.254, 10.10.0.255,
10.10.0.254 and probably some others.

I did not try 255.255.0.0 notation, I'll report back as to how that works.

I did delete and create new to no further advancement.

Hrmmm... So the last octet of the first IP should not be zero, despite proper
network notation being (for instance) 10.10.0.0/16? I'll give a try with a
non-zero last octet.

Hi Mike,

Sorry to hear you’re having problems. I verified on our side and yes, it looks
like we’re not handling /xx bitmask notation properly. I’ve logged a ticket
into our system to fix this. 255.255.x.y notation and start/end IP address
ranges should work though.

When you enter an end IP are you getting a pop-up error or is the cell flashing
red? Also, what are the exact values you are trying to enter for the Start IP
and End IP fields?

Deleting the existing row and creating a new row fresh may help. Also, when
using a start/end IP range the last octet of the Start IP should not be 0.

Thanks,
Jordan Stipati

Has anyone gotten discovery to accept anything?

I put in a /16, it completes discovery instantaneously and reports 0 devices
searched. I try to put in an end IP, heck even a range much smaller than /16
and it won't accept that field.

I also love how the old versions were only 32 bit, the new version is only 64
bit, there will be no upgrading to anything from the current beta.
