Be interesting to know the details. I don't think there is actually a "dfs"
chip in the unit. There is a DSP chip and perhaps there is some out of band
emissions that do not fit into some kind of European emissions mask.

from what I've heard from my cambium pre-sale engineer, it's the dfs
chip that does not meet the new european requirements, and anything from
the pmp100/400/430 family is prohibited to import in Europe. We have to
deal with the remaining units already imported.

in France, we can't buy pmp430 sm (or ap, or pmp 100 family ) anymore,
due to the dfs regulation, so we absolutely need this, or we will have
to change all APs in our networks...
