Get rid of those toughswitches ASAP in my opinion.

Tiny buffers, desktop grade switch chipset, ~2% packetloss just pinging through the switch with only 2 devices connected.

We have been proactive in purging them from our network for edgeswitches and now netonix. netonix is also about to release their DC switches, and even the 8 port netonix can port 2 AirFibers/SAF/B5(c)/etc.

DC-DC converter to regulate 48V into the switch and problem solved.

That unit is actually made by Taiwanese company Cotek. I have one of their
ST1000-148 units in service for about 3 years with no problems, probably the
same unit with a transfer switch. I think you’ll find the fan only runs when
needed.

We have a bunch of samlex chargers. Never had one fail. Don't know about their inverters

Looks like 240VAC out. Need 110/120VAC
Any experience with samlex? http://www.samlexamerica.com/products/ProductDetail.aspx?pid=442

Not liking the fan...

A fanless version with about the same power would be ideal.
