So will airFiber X be a disruptively priced FPGA based radio?
Or an AC chip based radio with gigabit throughput?
What does Ubiquiti want that brand to mean? Custom design? Or
throughput similar to fiber?

AirFiber line is FPGA radios, not WiFi based...

I think it's probably really more a matter it being hard to
setup properly and too many people would screw it up. I'd be
fine with half duplex only if it means only needing one dish...

Who knows, it could be almost anything, didn't they
originally say something like they couldn't do a
connectorized version because the antennas needed to be
very specific to make full duplex work? Maybe it's
something like a half duplex only version that only needs
one antenna...

Based on AirFiber technology, might be interesting.
How would that compare to Mimosa?

It says "A new PtP standard" at the top of the
announcement... based on what we can see, I think Mike
is probably right... connectorized 5ghz, at least I
really hope that's what it is.

I'm guessing 5 GHz connectorized. $399 sure can't have
as much material as the larger units. It looks to be
small, like a standard radio.
