Gpon is 2.5/1.25
Gepon is 1.25/1.25 (ethernet based) AKA EPON

I think that GEPOn OLT sfps should be caopatible with mikrotik because they
follow Ethernet standards

Different technologies. GEPON and GPON are as indifferent as 450 and Telrad.
The only thing really in common is multi-point and the medium.

I think the Planet OLT looks like the best option for me right now. I like the
GPON approach vs the P2P active fiber network, you going to have way less on
the amount of fibers in the ground going from your central office to the
individual neighborhoods and if you have cuts in between those two that's a
whole lot less fiber to be splicing back together. Plus you don't have to have
electric to a cabinet at the neighborhood side.

~4000 for 8 port OLT from Dasan which is Gpon(2.5g down) and not GEpon (1g
down).
