I believe the 16” equivalents I’ve bought from WAV were like your round ones (WAV makes them in house with genuine Times LMR), while I thought the Cambium branded ones always had the hex style. I’ve used them interchangeably, but I use silicone tape not heatshrink.

I have been buying them for years and they always had the round N connector like the one in the photo and recently from two vendors I started getting them with the Hex shaped connector like in the attached photo.
