Steve, I’m not quite following your scenario. Are you saying the cable company has 137 cable modems that need to be power cycled, one of them is yours feeding 5-6 customers? And because yours is not at an end customer, you have to drive to power cycle it, the other 136 customers can power cycle their own?
No chance you can get someone local to do it and save you a 50 mile drive? On occasion I’ve had a customer next door to a tower walk over and flip a breaker at the H-frame and given him a free month. Your stuff is probably in a locked cabinet or closet? How about the circuit breaker feeding it? Of course if it has a UPS, you can’t just flip the breaker. That’s why I stopped putting them on top of grain legs. Id be interested to see that math. i think we make like 8 bucks on that site after we pay for the resellable cable connection as it is. I think the only thing we make any money there on is the hosted email. On Wed, May 6, 2015 at 6:50 PM, Josh Luthman <[email protected]> wrote: No cable. Only paying for fiber. Its down. I called. The tech tells me they did some maintenance at night. 137 of the 137 modems on that node are offline. There is no outage. I literally have to drive 50 miles to powercycle this modem.
