Just to clarify.... The common lingo used in Mfg. is as follows:-
infant mortality = when a new product fails within a fairly short period of being put in service Old age mortality = when a product fails after a very long time of being in service. Product defect / mfg defect = something that went wrong during mfg.. (e.g. ubnt green cable.. wrong material used) Reliability = consistent performance past the infant mortality period till the Old age mortality = also means when un-explained wired shit happens for no reason in an unpredictable manner. Colloquially, sometimes folks use 'Reliability' to describe these phases interchangeably.... To me, infant mortality and product defect are both related to Quality Control.... not Reliability.. :) Faisal Imtiaz Snappy Internet & Telecom 7266 SW 48 Street Miami, FL 33155 Tel: 305 663 5518 x 232 Help-desk: (305)663-5518 Option 2 or Email: [email protected] ----- Original Message ----- > From: "George Skorup" <[email protected]> > To: [email protected] > Sent: Thursday, May 28, 2015 6:41:37 PM > Subject: Re: [AFMUG] Multimode BIDI > So what you're saying is...
