I was ready to cough up the $249 until I realized that dongle only does 2.4
GHz.
That might have worked 10 years ago.
The dual band dongle is quite a bit more expensive.

Was looking at this the other day. Now if you go to
http://www.metageek.com/products/office/ it says it's $249. That
should give you the basic channel scanning tools plus the tiny
spectrum analyzer dongle and SA functionality. Cleaner and faster
than using airView, not sure if it's worth it for you. Been using the
regular inssider 4 for a while now and it works fine. Chanalyzer and
stuff came with our Ekahau suite in my last gig but didn't use it much
but seemed fine.

I was looking at inSSIDer Office from Metageek for installers to
troubleshoot customer WiFi issues, but I realized the price shot up to
something like $650 to cover both 2.4 and 5 GHz. The product seems
slicker
than just using a Nanostation and airView, but the price difference is
like
10X.
Anybody using it and is it actually worth that kind of money? I guess you
can spend another 10X that and more on a Fluke.
For the time being I downloaded the free Xirrus app. Way less
functionality
and not as slick, but free. Well, free in exchange for getting on their
mailing list.
