[AFMUG] Planet ethernet switch, high throughput problems?

I have a planet 8 port (igs-801t) un-managed gig switch that I suspect
might be running out of steam at about 600mbps, anything over 600 I'm
seeing increased latency, has anyone ever ran a planet gig switch up near a
gig before? Do they preform?
