Ya, blackbox has something just like this, the issue is that these and the 
blackbox version, use their own standard to transmit, i.e. you have to have 
THEIR receiver to do anything on the receive side, I want to be able to open it 
from any PC on the network. .:)

Ok, looked around and found stuff at around $1800 bucks, but nothing else, 
figured I would ask.

I am looking for a simple, one box, that will take in a 1080p HDMI stream and 
multicast it out into a format, such as H.264 or others, that any windows, 
linux etc, computer can just open the multi-cast stream from their desktops..

Something that would be a few hundred would be fine, but of course cheaper the 
better :)  ..  Links preferred.
