LC is probably 99.99% of SFP.  It's 100% of two strands.

The sizing is single/multi mode.

Personally I've only done armored on towers - from the radio station building 
or whatever, under the ice bridge and straight up the tower.

We are ordering pre-terminated armored CommScope fiber from Best-Tronics and 
running it from a router at the base of the tower to a switch at the top.  I 
would suggest giving BT a call.
