My nephew got a new DJI Phantom 3 Pro model drone, and in the process of
setting it up, I was trying to find the WiFi frequencies/protocols it
was using to communicate between the controller and drone. Nothing
showed up in my sniffer, so I wonder if it's using 802.11 at all.
The specs (http://wiki.dji.com/en/index.php/Phantom_3_Professional) say
it's using 2400-2483 MHz, but is only 100 mW EIRP. They claim 2 KM
range, but he lost control of it in his admittedly WiFi congested
neighborhood.
