We did all contract work back in the day too, but paid $75 per install, $15 for equipment recovery, and $15/hr for service calls. They paid their own gas, insurance, etc. However, as I'm sure Doug H. will tell you, that is a hard thing to do these days and not have them considered an employee with all the tax implications that come with that. Unless they are working for several different companies doing the same kind of work, I'm not sure you could get away with contract employee work any more.
