What I did at the latest tower SWS built before I left, was I put a
Bison Fab rackmount enclosure at the base of the tower on a short
wooden pole. Inside the box I put a shielded 1U punchdown at the
bottom. I also left slack for each cable bundled inside the enclosure.
>From the box, there was conduit leading in to the shack / rack. If
water got into the cable somehow, the damage was limited to the
punchdown block. Also, this way I didn't have to run cable down the
tower and then try and fish it through the conduit.

For coming in to the box, I just used a step-bit and a bunch of
compression fittings.
