I said I would follow up so here goes. We made the change today and its working
fine in the new configuration. It’s the only site where we had run both
vertical and horizontal polarization so It doesn’t matter when we migrate the
other sites. But for some of you out there it might be helpful.

Sean,

I left out a key piece of equipment. There is a third FSK channel C in the mix
I didn’t mention and its on an Omni so I was using all 8mhz FSK channels before
introducing the 450i. That Omni is what’s killing me right now but if I get a
different configuration on those panels I can balance it much better.

I do have to think about what you said though for down the road. Is there
enough spectrum to run two FSK 8mhz channels and two 450i 5mhz channels and
still leave guard channels in place for the FSK?

Can u squeeze the 450i into a 5mhz channel?

That way you could put the 2 FSK on 8mhz A,B and then the 450i on two 5mhz C,D?

Once you are done converting you can then switch the 450i into two 10mhz
channels (and even a third 5mhz one inbetween) if you want.

Jerry,

Thanks I guess we will give it a try. Right now we have it sliced up into 40
degree panels. So we had an ABAB configuration on horizontal. Above the center
two (BA) I also had a AB in horizontal. When I turned off B to use that
frequency on the new 450i I of course created some serious congestion on the
remaining FSK. So my current configuration is O = off

  , A,O Horizontal

A,O,A,O Vertical

I would like to try and do

    ,A,O

O,A,O,A

This will give me a better balance until we can convert more to the 450i. If
anyone else has thoughts please chime in. Ill be sure to report back. Not that
many people are doing FSK 900 but hopefully many are migrating.

it has/is working for me at two of my sites.
YMMV of course.

We are migrating a FSK site to PMP450i 900mhz and because of that I need to
turn off some FSK to make room in the frequency for the new 450i. Nothing new
everyone runs into it I am sure. My question is has anyone run FSK 900mhz on
the same frequency on both vertical and horizontal polarities with just
vertical separation on the panel antennas? I have done this in the past but
we always offset them in an AB horizontal and a BA vertical. In this case I
want to stack them directly above each other AA no B. Clear as mud? We have
a break in the weather coming next week it should be in the 20s with light
wind but I dont want to waist a climb and a day if its not going to work.
