Having not seen the turbine towers up close yet, this might be a dumb question, but why not a chain mount?

It is hard to believe but power in a wind farm isn't as available as you might think. I had to relocate an air-conditioned cabinet to another one because original location because it only had one leg and I needed 220. I also needed 9 amps and there was only 4 amps.

In addition, it was very difficult to figure a way into the tower. We had to create a junction box both inside and out with a loop through the door. I expect issues with that.

Magnetic mounts on the /side/ of the tower? Or did they have some
    kind of platform up top?

It so happens I have some magnetic mounts from an older water tank
installation (tank was demo'd). I'm having trouble picturing
    those on a monopole.

What was wrong with the power? Surges when the wind blows hard?

All the ones I have done absolutely refuse to penetrate the

    power was problematic.

Has anybody mounted equipment on a wind turbine tower? Any
        problems
with vibration? Any problems with anything else that you
        don't find on
        other towers?
