Breaking away from the current "encryption key per subscriber management"
bs will be part of the fight. Potentially losing control of the middleware
will be another. Advertisements, later, will be another. Then fighting
manufacturers (I'm looking at you smartTVs) that refuse to use Android or
IOS as the platform will be another - this is a big one. If you can't
update the customer facing delivery apps for security updates or features
then... Oh,   planned obsolescence. :(
