Those of you who have experienced a radio stuck in recovery mode, what is
the most likely cause? PIDU? Cable? Radio?
I had one that has been in service for 5+ years do this earlier this year
after a power outage. But logging into it and clicking on Reboot from the
recovery mode web gui brought it back to life. Now it has done it again,
but it just reboots back into recovery mode.
I have a spare PIDU that I will try. No signs of water in the cable but I
can get someone to climb next week and we can check that. I'm afraid though
that the radio may be the mostly likely cause. At that point it might be
easier to just replace the link with AF5X than to send the radio somewhere
for repair or buy a used one.
Also, does anyone know what pins the PIDU shorts (or whatever it does) when
you push the remote recovery mode button?
