The new company is the UBNT of the LTE space. Cheap and easy. I believe that 
Telrad stressed the hardware and component quality over the LTE part. I think 
several dB of the link budget were due to component selection. That quality 
just came at a price that was above what many were willing to pay. 

I don't believe there is anything inherently wrong with the Telrad strategy.
