The only time you'd have a meaningful difference is if you shorted quite a
few of the output lines, and even then you'd have to short several to even
get to a half a watt.

The next iteration of gps modules will reduce this even further.

So you're saying that the SyncBox driving all 12 timing ports still uses
like a 1/2 watt? That's freakin amazing.

Power consumption is one of the selling points for my products which I
don't do a very good job of promoting. I don't think there's a single
product that I ship which takes even a watt. The sitemonitor base unit is
the most hungry one and it's like 2/3 of a watt.

Yeah, at the end of the day it is negligible in the grand scheme of
consumption on a tower. The ½ watt just surprised me a bit

I think the SyncPipe is like 1/4 watt. SyncBox probably not much more.
Maybe a couple watts, 2-3 perhaps.

You think? It's just a GPS receiver and some wiring.

Why would you expect it to be any different?

I must be reading something wrong on Forrest’s web site…

says it consumes ½ watt ? at 24volts…. So like… 0.020833 amps

seems really low… unless the medication I am on is affecting my cranial
vault processing unit
