I’ll bet the Bosch engineers who came up with the CAN bus are rolling over in 
their graves at the thought of a poorly secured gizmo connecting to the CAN bus 
and also the public Internet.  Of course the Progressive Snapshot got hacked.  
And now Verizon will sell you a “Hum”, to “turn your beater into a connected 
car”.
