California has an open primary, except that the republican party chose to not participate. So you can vote for any party you like except republican.

I am not familiar with Utah's primary process, and each state is very
different. What was the registration deadline for people to
select/change political parties before the primary? Can you vote Dem
if registered Rep? Can you vote Rep if registered Dem?

Each state is very different, and these are important things to be
aware of as they drastically effect the end numbers.

Yeah, but look at it this way... in the primary, Trump got 24,864 votes, and
Clinton got 15,666. If I was betting on this, I'd say they'll stick with the
party.

Interesting bet. It's tough to say if they'll stick with the party,
especially when Trump got 0 delegates.

Hey...

With the two presidential candidates now decided, I want to be clear
about this $100 bet with me and Chuck... his claim was that Utah would vote
Democrat before voting for Trump. I am still betting that Utah will vote
Republican, which means Trump.

If Utah votes Democrat (Clinton), I will send a framed $100 bill to Chuck
for him to hang on his wall. :)
