We used those rigid boxes mauve 17 years ago for battery boxes.  We painted
them white and cut a 4" hole in the bottom blowing in. We epoxy glued the
same kind of nuts you use on plywood to the lid to mount the charger and
inverter to.  See the 2nd AF notes.

We eventually went to a single box but I'm not sure this wasn't aa better
way to do it. Mainly because we always positioned it right below and in
front of the equipment boxes so we had a place to put stuff and sit when we
worked on it.
