Yeah, they've already talked about it a couple times in "public" now, but all I
was able to make was list chatter.

They've already been talking about it. 5GHz later this year and 3GHz next year.
Beam steering is on the uplink only. As far as 5GHz anyway due to EIRP. I'm
wondering if we'll get downlink steering on 3GHz, but something tells me no.

And yeah, I agree. If it's $5k per AP, that's not gonna work for us. $3k would
be reasonable.

It's going to be interesting to see how they price Medusa. If they keep it more
in line with the PMP450i 900mhz pricing (with no license keys on the SMs), then
it will be pretty interesting... it could very well beat LTE in every way that
I care about (for the near future, anyway).

Have they said what bands Medusa is going to be available in yet?

5k being high in typical cambium fashion. That is what i hear on nlos. Ive
talked to people with 3.65 450 and most of them say they still try to avoid a
tree. We are seeing a tree being easy. Its more like do you think we can make
it through those 2 blocks of trees. I always hate getting excited about a
product when nlos comes into play because you are always let down. But when
that trial customer emailed me this morning and told me how well it worked
through that storm it's kind of hard not to get excited.

Cambium Medusa webinar launch is what I would guess he is talking about, its on
wednesday. Rivision 10 LTE as far as I know will include everything Medusa will
do. I think next year is when we will start seeing R10 chips hit the market and
manufactures will start adopting it. We are 100% cambium right now, have been
for over 10 years, but I am always looking for something that will work along
side other options. Still need to do more testing, but LTE has a better link
budget, so your 450 with mixed sms running from 1x to 8x should perform better
over an average on LTE, we just have to do more testing to verify that. We
don’t have any 900 or 3.65 450 so im still waiting to hear from other trial
providers on nlos comparisons. If that Medusa Access Point is 5 grand I’m going
to ***** cambium….

90mbps in a 20mhz Channel? That's what Cambium 450 could get 2 years ago on a
whole lot more solid software/firmware.

So whats the advantages of the LTE? Is it going to be cheaper than the Cambium
450? Is the license keys for SM throughput or can 1 SM do the full speed?

I have it. They are letting me talk about it pass my nda. Hardware so far is
solid. Software is very beta. Missing many key features needed for comerical
deployment. We are seeing about 90mb on 20mhz which is what is to be expected
with R9 LTE. I posted maybe a week ago on one of our links. 5ghz is on the road
map. Shoot me your questions.
