I worked for several years with various networks that were IGMP based with “traditional IPTV” deployments. They worked and worked well…. FTTH, VDSL, ADSL2+ etc delivery
I’ve spent the last year and a bit working around stream based IPTV and can’t say the same thing. VOD type of stream delivery (ie. Netflix etc) is relatively straight forward … linear TV programming via stream has a lot of challenges especially as it scales with channels and subscribers.
