They've probably switched to a new receiver in the 2000.  I'm still working
on qualifying a newer module which suppprts the Russian GLONASS in addition
to GPS.  So far it seems to be a much better receiver all around,  but I
haven't had the time needed to complete the testing.  It wouldn't surprise
me to find that it also does a better job in high noise situations.
