I’ve seen that same issue as you describe it between CCR1036/CCR1016/CCR1009
and Netonix switches. Tik says fiber is up at 1Gbps but no rx traffic. Netonix
detects the cable is plugged in but can’t get any traffic through. Toggling SFP
to inactive/active usually fixes. Used Fiberstore Generic, Mikrotik, and HP
SFPs in the Mikrotik – no improvements one over the other. Netonix seems to
prefer HP SFPs.

Doing things like turning flow control on/off or changing speed negotiation
settings on the Mikrotik can induce this problem *sometimes* - depends on what
mood it’s in. No rhyme or reason when it fails at other times – toggling
usually fixes it though.

Subject: Re: [AFMUG] CRS with sfp lockup

I'm not saying this is the same problem....but I have a situation where a
Trango Apex Lynx loses link to a CCR 1036. The SFP interface on the router
says there's link, but the SFP interface on the Trango says there isn't. The
problem (in my case) occurs any time the Trango loses power. I can restore
service by rebooting the CCR, unplugging and reconnecting the fiber cable, or
disabling and re-enabling the SFP interface. In this case I didn't have a good
picture of what was happening at first because when it was happening I didn't
have remote access to see the condition of everything.

The Apex Lynx has the JDSU SFP module sold by Trango. I've duplicated the
problem with 4 different SFP's in the CCR (Mikrotik brand, Maxxwave, JDSU, and
Finisar), but I haven't tried changing the SFP in the Trango. I don't know how
common this issue is....it only became apparent after a UPS failed.

Subject: [AFMUG] CRS with sfp lockup

I have a mikrotik CRS210 with a non-mikrotik sfp which locked up last night,
Not sure if it was the CRS or the sfp...

Anyone encountered this and have a solution?
