Cisco Cat 3750 is good for SNMP DOM information.

*sigh* Such inconsistency within one manufacturer within a given product line.

Hmm… that’s interesting …

Nexus 7010’s we can monitor via SNMP the DOM on 10 and 100G ports no problem

I just checked a Nexus 5k and no luck … but on CLI you can …. that’s kind of
silly (hence your question)

The information does show in the CLI, for sure. It's just not documented which
OID has it, if it's available via SNMP.

The Brocade VDX-6720 doesn't have it either.

I want to repeat that the optic information on these switches *DOES* show up in
the CLI, but no documentation as to where to find it via SNMP. Someone on
Cisco-NSP echoed my desires for that feature.

Not sure about OID monitoring of the DOM itself come to think of it …. no
problem on Nexus 7k I can confirm ….. pretty sure 9396PX you can get that
information (via CLI which would assume via SNMP). This is all with authentic
optics to be specific.

Cisco varies. Not available on Nexus 3548, Nexus 9396 or Catalyst 4500 (near as
I can tell).

Either that or the OIDs aren't documented and you're off to a needle in a
haystack search.

It’s going to vary on platforms I’m sure …. we have no issues getting this
information on Juniper/Cisco devices for example. 3rd party vs “genuine” optics
can made this variation too

What have you noticed as far as platforms that do or do not make SFP DOM
information available over SNMP? So far it looks like at least three different
platforms I have access to do not. That seems kind of important.
