Advantages of a 450i SM vs the original 450 SM's are as follows: 1. Increase TX power of radio, I think 25db TX power which should help you get better modulation on uplink 2. 4.9ghz to 5.8ghz in single radio, currently that is only way to use 450 on 5.1-5.2Ghz is with all 450i hardware until the new SM that Ken mentioned will be coming in 2017 3. 450i radios have Gigabit ports and are Full Throughput keyed, I think they can transfer total throughput that AP can deliver so if your running 30mhz wide channels that would be about 180Mbps aggregate (will be even higher when 40mhz channels come out later this year.
