I assume he is scavenging the case from a 2011 and slipping the 3011 into it.  
I’ve wondered if that would work, I guess the answer is yes.  Since I’m 
replacing 2011’s with 3011’s, that would be a viable approach.

 

Is it that simple, or does it involve some mods?

If you can't fit the rackmount form-factor in your enclosure, it seems pretty
