No the coil is 315, the whip is the 900. That is the one to remove and replace with coax or a coax connector. I am sure you can do that with both if you want. Make sure to pick up the ground connection very close to the antenna connection.

So the coil is the 900?  Was thinking about putting about a 3 foot
pigtail on and putting a one of the old flat panels from my canopy fsk
on it.  The unit is mounted on the ceiling next to the garage door
opener.  I can just run the cable into the attic and put the antenna
up there out of sight.
