I had assumed code would tell him to get a conduit instead of a water pipe. He says they told him it was fine. I could direct bury the cable, so it truly doesn't matter to me what the type of pipe/conduit is. I'm just surprised that it wouldn't be an issue for code enforcement. My belief is that fiber optic cables are within the scope of NEC and that NEC calls for listed conduit. Am I mistaken?
