The Gore vent is there for pressure equalization, prevent condensation, etc.
I've seen about 10 or a dozen 450 APs end up with water inside. One case
showed corrosion at the top of the board, so my suspicion was the seal
around the cover at the top. Others I know the gore vent deteriorated
and one bad thunderstorm with heavy wind let the water right in. I still
have no clue what the cause was on the others since it wasn't obvious.
I've had leaks with heat-shrink silicone-rubber tape, so I really don't
think it's the seals.
It would be nice if Cambium would offer a 450 to 450i trade-up program
when these things leak.

Hermetically sealed? I don't see anything about that in the spec
sheet. All it says is IP66/67 and 40 year MTBF. The RJ45/RJ11
connection point can let air out of the case when the glands are not
installed. Does that make it not hermetically sealed?

You only have two options, if it is hermetically sealed then it
does not need a drain. A casting like that with the seals it has
should be hermetically sealed. Obviously it is not. Or it is
defective.
So the other choice is a decent drain hole with something in it to
keep bugs out. Screen works. I have seen a stainless steel type
of steel wool used.

the bushing can be taken out, I was leaning more towards drilling
a 1/4 inch hole beside it in the metal for a new drain hole.
Should I pro-actively be doing this to all my APs?

Is the little bushing looking thing second from the right
the vent? Looks like it would allow a quarter inch of
water to build up before draining. Can that be taken out?
If so, take it out and glue some non metallic window
screen over the hole.
The bushing thing is probably the old FSK port.
