The Hoover one I got for Christmas has just terrible software. Maybe there will be an update for it, but I'm not going to hold my breath as Hoover offered to give me a credit towards another Hoover product. However that's useless as we already have a good regular vacuum and we got their $400 model for $200 and the $600 model isn't significantly different, so now we go to the $1,000 model and I'm not spending $800 to give Hoover another try.

It is supposed to automatically update itself.
