They make pretty decent VDSL2 30A DSLAMS. Looking forward to testing their g.fast offerings more for >500Mbps service at short loop lengths. The per port cost for the VDSL2 stuff is very competitive. Interface is sort of like a weird version of an old Cisco or a Foundry switch. It is an L2 switch glued to VDS2L PHY.
But for really small switches you can get a better feature set and more extensive operating system options/better SNMP by using a small Mikrotik switch that runs RouterOS (not SwitchOS), such as this which is about $110. https://mikrotik.com/product/CRS112-8G-4S-IN On Thu, Aug 24, 2017 at 12:10 PM, Adam Moffett <[email protected]> wrote: > Planet has been talked about a few times in the past here. > > They do have some interesting stuff. > I just noticed they make a mini 2-port GPON OLT for $1400. > > There's also this little bugger which looks like it could be a WISP > micro-POP in a box: > http://www.planet.com.tw/en/product/product.php?id=48944 > > Is this a good company in general?
