My seven children have all been taught hand to hand by me. I was taught by my dad and later Mr. Compean before I took formal lessons with Cliff Thomas. I recommend boxing for footwork, head movement , slipping and parrying, judo/jujitsu/wrestling for dealing with bigger and stronger opponents , muay Thai for leg kicks,..karate for kicks to knee and shin....they have defended themselves well when needed.
