I am certain I have seen a camera enclosure that had a roll of something like 
saran wrap that you could either manually advance or perhaps it slowly advanced 
itself to keep the view clear.  (Someone was asking about keeping the lens 
clean).  I suppose you could also set one up to spray some cleaner followed by 
a blast of compressed air or CO2.  

But yeah, having the camera or DVR be able to ignore certain areas of the frame 
is nice.  I have a couple of systems like that.
