Since the original question was about porting time, I'd say it's safer to assume longer rather than shorter.

As I understand it, the port is basically instantaneous whenever the right person gets the go-ahead and actually updates the LERG database. All the time going by and all the other BS is just making sure that it's actually ok and safe to pull the trigger. I.E., the correct person is making the request, they actually are the account holder, the number really belongs on that account, etc.

If that's the case, then I don't know why them being a CLEC would inherently make it slower. I've been assuming they're slower because nothing requires them to be faster.

I guess it depends on whether or not you are a facilities based CLEC. Who owns the switch.
In any event, since LNP, the customer owns the number.

CLeC but it really doesn't matter. The number is registered in the LERG and that tells the gaining carrier who to contact. Some carriers require a bill which shortens ports in some cases.
