You're a goddamn genius, Gump.

Does the ePMP 2k support Cambium Sync? I don't remember. -48 would be cool too, but I'm pretty sure it won't. Damn.

Just ordered a couple RackInjectors for a new site and a spare. I'm not going to put a SiteMonitor base in there. Just need +24 and +48 right now. I'll probably use the C input for a dumb brick to monitor utility power for now.

Anyway, I know you're busy on this stuff, but feel free to tell me to STFU. I fully expect it. A telemetry card would be nice to have. 2 or 3 switch inputs, 1 or 2 shunt inputs, and a DC voltmeter for utility monitoring. That's about all I can think of. Maybe a relay with just NC exposed would be cool too. A PDU card for fiber+DC radios would also be good.

I'm still very much interested in the 12-port DIN PowerInjector+sync to retrofit existing sites with smaller enclosures. What would be really neat is if you can figure out how to do Canopy Sync and Cambium Sync on the same hardware at the same time. That I would definitely wait for.

OK, I'll shut up now.

So, now you've all speculated a bit, and I've had some sleep (up way too late working on getting this out the door)....

Yes, George, the 450i and 450m supports both positive and negative voltages.   It has a fully isolated power supply.

Yes, Sean, this is a 450m on a short cable, and no subscribers.   I plan on putting a single SM on this this evening, along with a very long cable (>100m) to verify no issues.   I also have tests of these in the field with more subs, but this is the first one I get to play with on the bench (borrowed it from the WISP).

For everyone's information:

The board in question will be fixed-pinout and is designed to provide Cambium Style sync over power to the 450i and 450m AP's.   It will also power up other devices which are ok with or need an all-4-pair power arrangement and are ok with the cambium power arangement.      This board will be released for purchase on or shortly after January 1st, and either shipping immediately or shortly thereafter.

Shortly thereafetr will follow a jumper configurable either polarity injection board.   It is still yet to be seen whether or not we'll be able to do the older style Canopy-stle sync over power with this, I'm hopefull we will.   This board will not do the newer cambium style sync.   The switching should in theory be fast enough to do the Canopy style sync, but until we spend a lot of time with it on a scope, I can't be sure.

So, to summarize:

Now:  4 port jumper configurable positive only, Canopy-Style sync.

Jan 1:  4 port Cambium-Style sync, 4 pair Cambium-style pinput, +-48VDC required.

Later in Jan/Feb: 4 Port Jumper Confurable plus-or-minus voltage board which *may* have the capability for sync over power for Cambium style sync.

One note:  Currently, even if you feed these -48VDC, you still need at least one positive power supply for the syncinjector to power things like the GPS module, and the electronics for the control board.   I'm still working on fixing this issue, I think I might have it figured out, but I've thought this before.   The currently-shipping control boards will always have this requirement, a future revision in where we hope to resolve this.

So you're saying the 450m supports negative voltage / positive ground?

its powering a 450m.  probably on a short cable with no

-52 volts. Nice. Wait... what is that powering at 820mA?

I imagine the answer to this is no, but will the Cambium Sync
compatible cards/injectors still do traditional Canopy Sync?
Entirely different h/w, right? I hope I'm wrong.

Cambium's been pretty nice since they quit being motorola.
They of course make business choices from time to time

        And that's a screenshot from a a 450m/medusa.  Their MU-MIMO
stuff which just works (the WISP I deal with from time to
time has had great luck with them).

Here's another snip, from my product:

I suspect there will be a few people excited about a couple
of the things on the above screen ;)
