Yes, enabled on each SM. It consumes two LUID's, so you'll be limited to 100 or so SM's configured this way....I'm sure that's not a problem you're realistically going to encounter these days. I can't remember if you have to change anything on the AP, but I don't think so.

And yes, traffic in the HP channel is sent before other traffic. However, it might not be accurate to say this would "ensure VoIP is prioritized". To be specific, traffic is put in the HP Queue if it has certain DSCP values or 802.1p values. The default DSCP values on common VoIP devices will match the default high priority DSCP values on the 450i. Ensuring VoIP is prioritized is a goal that has to be configured and verified end to end though.

For example, if a customer uses Ring Central, their incoming voice traffic left Ring Central's gateway with DSCP 48 which PMP450 will treat as high priority, but you can't be sure that some intermediary didn't zero out the DSCP bits in the IP headers before they get to you and your AP. I've had switches on my own network that were doing that without my noticing until someone had a VoIP issue.

So this has to be enabled on each SM that you want to prioritize VOIP? Does anything need to be done at the AP? What if the AP downlink % is nearing 100% will this ensure VOIP is still prioritized through an AP that is nearing saturation?

Thank you.

That's not strictly necessary. Even HP traffic beyond the HP CIR gets higher than standard priority.
.....but I do it the same way you do it.

You also should set the amount of traffic you want to dedicate to the high priority channel. We typically use 130 Kbps, which will run most VoIP traffic.

It is equally simple.

Click Configuration -> QoS
Enable the Hi Priority Channel. Done.

If you leave everything else alone, then you've just done the same thing as enabling VoIP Priority on ePMP. You *can* do more stuff, but maybe you don't need to.

I can't remember, but you might have to do it on the AP and SM.

I would like to prioritize VOIP on a 450i customer.
Don't really know how to do that.
On ePMP it is just 3 clicks, does not look that simple
on the 450.
Help please?
