2000 definitely has a heater in it for startup if it's too cold. This only powers on during power up if the radio has been offline and is below a certain temperature. It only runs run 2 minutes or less in our experience until a certain internal temp is reached. We see about 16 watts usage with the heater on. 6 to 8 watts otherwise during normal operation.
