PRODUCERS LAB


October 13th - November 25th


Time Event Begins: 7:30 PM




IFP/Los Angeles is now accepting submissions for the


2003 Producers Lab.  


The deadline is August 21 , 2003 (postmarked)




Ten Producers will be chosen for this intensive seven-week


program, designed to help filmmakers develop skills as


creative producers.  In the Lab, participants get their


projects in the best possible shape before seeking


sources of financing or going into production.


Participants develop a strategy and formal action plan


for bringing their projects to fruition - including a


budget, schedule and business plan.  Lab participants


also have one-on-one meetings with professional advisors -


established producers, directors, and other industry


professionals.  The filmmakers also receive a


complimentary pass to IFP/LA's annual Producer Series,


which runs concurrently.  The Producers Lab is sponsored


by Gateway, Inc.




Past Lab Instructors include Matthew Greenfield (The


Good Girl), Jasmine Kosovic (D.E.B.S.), and Effie Brown


(Real Women Have Curves). Guest speakers inlcude Midge


Sanford (producer, Desperately Seeking Susan); Allison


Anders (director, Things Behind the Sun, Sugartown);


Peggy Rajski (producer, Home For the Holidays); Laurie


Parker (producer, In the Cut); John Cooper (Sundance


Programmer);
