The Cape High Court has rejected a request to have the Mikro Primary School
issue referred to the Pan South African Language Board (PanSalb). The school's
governing body is challenging the Western Cape education department over the
forced admission of 21 English-speaking learners to the Afrikaans medium
school.

Norman Arendse, a counsel for the department, argued that the matter should be
referred to the board because it is a neutral body.
